# Managing Project Visibility and Sharing

Effective collaboration starts with ensuring the right people have access to your work. Project visibility settings allow you to control who can view and edit your projects, ranging from private drafts to company-wide initiatives. Dinalar

This guide explains the different visibility levels available and how to configure them to suit your team's needs, helping you avoid confusion when creating new projects.

# Understanding Visibility Levels

To help you manage access and security, projects can be set to one of three visibility levels. Understanding these defaults is critical for ensuring your work is accessible to the right teammates.

- **Private:** The project is visible only to you. This is often the default setting for individual contributors. It is ideal for drafting new concepts or working on sensitive data before sharing it with others.

- **Team:** The project is visible to all members of your immediate team. Use this setting for collaborative work where teammates need to view or contribute to the project immediately upon creation.

- **Public (Organization):** The project is accessible to everyone in your organization. This setting is best for announcements, shared resources, or final deliverables that need broad distribution.

# Configuring Project Visibility

You can modify a project's visibility settings at any time, provided you have the necessary permissions. If you find that teammates cannot see a new project, checking these settings is the first step.

1. Navigate to the specific project you wish to update.

2. Locate and click the **Settings** icon in the project header or sidebar.

3. Find the **Visibility** or **Permissions** section.

4. Select your desired visibility level (Private, Team, or Public) from the options provided.

5. Click **Save** to apply the changes. The project will immediately become visible (or hidden) based on your selection.

# Sharing with Collaborators

In addition to broad visibility levels, you can share projects with specific individuals or external collaborators. This allows you to keep a project "Private" or "Team-only" while granting access to specific stakeholders outside of those groups.

When inviting collaborators, ensure that your visibility settings do not inadvertently block access. For example, sending a link to a "Private" project will result in an access error unless the recipient has been explicitly added to the project's member list.

# Next Steps

Now that you have configured your project visibility, you can focus on organizing your workspace. Review your current projects to ensure they match your intended sharing settings.
